PehlaPanna, Education Desk :&nbsp; At the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), youth teams from across India have gathered to find innovative solutions to water pollution. Over 168 students are working tirelessly on their projects, representing states like Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed students at 51 nodal centers, including PIET, via video conferencing, motivating the young innovators to excel in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024.At the Haryana nodal center, the focus is on water conservation and sanitation. "Smart India Hackathon provides a platform for young minds to innovate and dream big," he said, highlighting its impact on fostering startups and solutions over the past seven editions. Modi also announced plans to involve one lakh young leaders in politics through the Viksit Bharat, Young Leader Dialogue initiative, launching in January 2025.Education Minister’s Visit ScheduledPIET Vice Chairman Rakesh Tayal announced that Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda would visit the center on December 12 to interact with students and learn about their projects. Efforts to combat water pollution in Haryana will also be discussed.The event began with a virtual inauguration by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, followed by PM Modi’s address in the evening. Participants, including key faculty members and officials, witnessed the sessions at PIET's APJ Auditorium.This hackathon continues to strengthen PIET’s reputation as a hub of innovation and excellence, setting benchmarks for technological advancements in the region.
