PehlaPanna, Education Desk, Panipat : “Children are full of creativity; they think out of the box. It is the teacher’s responsibility to identify their talents and provide them with the right opportunities and platforms,” said Prof. Shyama Rath, Secretary of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).


 


She was addressing participants at the two-day Capacity Building Workshop on Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship held at the Panipat Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET), Samalkha.&nbsp;


 


The workshop was organized jointly by the Innovation Cell of the Ministry of Education, the Department of School Education and Literacy, and AICTE, where District Education Officers (DEOs) and DIET members from Haryana were trained.
 
Prof. Rath emphasized that education must focus on empowering society and developing entrepreneurial qualities in students through innovation. “We must think about how to teach and train children to become innovators.&nbsp;
 
The Innovation Cell provides the framework — it’s our responsibility to move together toward a common goal,” she added.

Joint Director of SCERT, Sunil Bajaj, highlighted that DEOs have a crucial role in motivating teachers and encouraging innovation that leads to entrepreneurship.&nbsp;
 
He said that the New Education Policy (NEP) aims for the holistic development of students.&nbsp;
 
Revolution Through Education 4.0
 
Dr. Shakti Kumar, Director of PIET, noted that Education 4.0 will drive the next industrial revolution. “This is India’s time. We must give our youth the right opportunities to help them move forward,” he said.&nbsp;
 
Rakesh Tayal, Vice Chairman of PIET, encouraged educators to think differently and focus on innovative problem-solving. “The faster we find better solutions, the quicker we progress,” he stated.

India’s youth, he said, are showcasing their talent through startups and innovation.&nbsp;
 
The event also saw participation from Mayur Madhukar Borkar (Regional Coordinator, Innovation Cell), Neelam Saxena and Geeta Sanjay (Wadhwani Group), Hari Om Tayal (Chairman, PIET), Suresh Tayal (Secretary, PIET), Shubham Tayal (Board Member), Dr. B.B. Sharma (Dean), and Dr. Shakti Arora (Nodal Centre Coordinator), who felicitated the participants.
