PehlaPanna, Education Desk : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with young innovators during the Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2024 on 11th December 2024, at approximately 4:30 PM via video conferencing. Over 1,300 student teams from across India will participate in this prestigious event held at 51 nodal centres, including PIET Panipat, Haryana's only nodal centre for SIH 2024.The 7th edition of SIH marks a significant milestone with a 150% increase in institute-level hackathons, making it the largest edition to date.&nbsp;The Software Edition will be a 36-hour marathon, while the Hardware Edition will extend from 11th to 15th December 2024. Participants will tackle over 250 problem statements contributed by 54 Ministries, Departments, State Governments, PSUs, and Industries, or present innovative ideas in 17 national priority themes such as Healthcare, Sustainability, Emerging Technologies, and Disaster Management.Among this year's intriguing problem statements are ISRO's challenge on ‘Enhancing Images of Darker Regions on the Moon,’ the Ministry of Jal Shakti’s real-time Ganga Water Quality Monitoring System, and the Ministry of AYUSH's AI-enabled Smart Yoga Mat.PIET Panipat, as the sole nodal centre for Haryana, will host some of the brightest minds working on these national-level challenges. This initiative reinforces PIET's reputation as a hub for innovation and technological excellence in the region.
